Social Capital is a technology investing platform whose mission is to build the future. The Social Capital platform was created in 2011 by Chamath Palihapitiya. In its first iteration, Social Capital raised traditional venture funds and invested in companies like Slack, Box, and Relativity Space. In 2018, the strategy transitioned to primarily a permanent capital model. Since then, Social Capital has continued to make investments, with a broad focus across energy transition and climate science, life sciences, and deep tech.
